Getting Ready...

Hi there -

This is my first blog post so it's a bit of a different experience. I'm not too sure what to say on these things, or how to say it! And it's even harder because I haven't left yet. I'm hoping to use this as a journal type of thing but I hate writing pen and paper style so decided to try out a blog. I know that as some of my friends read this, they will probably laugh at me and I hope they do. I'm laughing at myself as I write this. It feels really awkward. I'm not used to writing personal pieces like this, especially so anyone can read it.

Anyway, I guess I will start off by saying I am totally surprised at how much work and effort I need to put in to getting ready to leave. I don't take off for another couple weeks but sorting through money and what to pack, it's a little overwhelming. It hasn't really felt like I was leaving, but as everyone started school this week and I started to pack, it's beginning to hit me. I'm going to be gone for 5 months! That's a long time to spend across the world from everyone I know and everything that is familiar to me. It's going to be a different experience for sure.

Anyway, I'm not sure what else to really say since I haven't left yet. As of now, I haven't found a place to live yet, so that might make for some interesting posts when I get there! I'll try and keep up to date with this blog and keep you all tuned in!
